Margaret's Statement
My enamel and precious metal pieces are an attempt to capture a moment in time. The enamel appears to be in motion, reflecting occurrences in nature, such as a splash of water. The detail involved in each piece is abstracted through the use of metal and enamel into visual gestures on the surface of each piece. I highlight these details by creating a framework surrounding each piece that acts a support structure. Color aids me in further emphasizing the visual gesture, whether it be through contrasting colors or tonal changes.
